Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command have rescued 16 individuals kidnapped by bandits alongside the Birnin-Gwari highway, Udawa in Chikun Native Authorities Space of the state on Sunday.
The state police spokesman, ASP Mohammad Jalige, who said this on Monday, additionally disclosed that the Command recovered a car earlier snatched at gunpoint from the traditional metropolis of Zaria.
Jalige mentioned many of the victims have been residents of Udawa and Gadagi Baggi Villages, all in Chikun LGA whereas others have been travellers from Lagos, Kano, Zamfara and Niger States.
He mentioned, “On the sixteenth January, 2022 the Kaduna Police Command via Divisional Police Officer Buruku acquired data that some individuals have been sighted round Masallaci space alongside Birnin Gwari highway who have been suspected to be victims of kidnapping.
“On the power of the report, the DPO instantly mobilized personnel on rescue mission to the realm.
“On sighting the advancing troops the hoodlums took to their heels abandoning sixteen (16) victims whom the Operatives efficiently rescued.”
Jalige added that the success recorded by the Command was on account of the company acquired from the group following data volunteered to the safety businesses.
